Greetings & Salutations! Welcome to my new blog.  I'm a photographer based out of Camp Hill, PA but my adventures and exploration take me beyond Central PA.  Feel free to take some time exploring my blog site and the links to my professional websites featuring more portrait and wedding images. My old blog will remain active for now and can be found under my websites button in the menu.  You can see previous posts by doing a search, looking under categories, or by using the view next entries option at the bottom of this page.

Dog Agility Photographs - Central PA Dog Photographer

Facing a photo challenge. . .

I was recently asked to capture some photographs at a dog agility class.  I had actually never seen a dog go through an entire course before except for on television.  It was tremendous fun!  While the dogs were hurdling, maneuvering, and walking their obstacles, sometimes at warp speeds, I had my own obstacles to face.

Although I didn't have any teeter-totters to walk, this was my first ever agility session, photographed at night, in mixed lighting with no use of flash, and it was cold enough for me to leave my winter coat on for the entire session.  I'm sure if I had been running around like the dogs I would have been fine, but brrr, my fingers were cold.  Some of these dogs were so fast through the course, I had trouble tracking them and anticipating just when and where they would jump, land, or weave.

Despite my nerves, I had a blast facing this challenge, and I would surely attempt it again.  It was pure joy watching the dogs and their companions go through the course.  Obviously it is great mental and physical exercise for the dogs.  However, it truly seems like a great bonding experience for both as well.

Party of 6 - Fun Family Portraits in Central PA

Q = What happens when you have two sweet little boys, two rescued pups, a fantastic location, and two amazing parents who want photographs that truly depict each of their kids (human & canine) as they really are?

A = See photos below.

 It was a goal of the parents that I capture individual portraits of all of their boys, those with fur that they rescued, and those. . .without!

Sweet Big Brother

Silly Little Brother

The next photo of Trevor has a bit of motion blur, but it's definitely still a keeper. . .and a fave of mine! His ear makes me laugh out loud!

Tucker just loves to chew sticks, you should have seen the monstrous BRANCH he was gnawing on during the session!

I absolutely adore the next two brotherly moments . . .

Mom's idea! These boys just love their lalas! What a great treat for the end of our session!

Trevor is aquirky mix. I wanted to photograph his coat to show you how unique it is. Could he be part sheep? ;)

This next photo of Tucker just sums up how lucky both Tucker & Trevor must feel to be given second chances by this loving family! Obviously, they are truly happy and content with their family!

When Brian & I arrived for the session, the family was just hanging out by the creek.  By the time the end of the session rolled around, they were doing the same thing (only with lollipops), so I encouraged Dad to join them for a few shots.  Even though this session was about all of the kids, I thought a quick family shot would be fun.  I do love the layers of this casual family portrait.

I have to say thank you to this really unique family!  I hope you had as much fun at your portrait session as I did.  I left feeling incredibly warm and fuzzy, like Trevor's coat. ;)  Your entire proof gallery will be live soon.
